The distracted driving ordinance implemented in Troy, Michigan promises to ticket any driver within city limits whose attention is not primarily upon their driving.

- texting
- drinking coffee
- smoking cigarettes
- petting pets
- children running loose in the car (?)
The fine for receiving a distracted driving ticket under the new ordinance is set at $200, with the additional penalty of $70 for talking on your mobile or texting while driving.
